Two red, yellow and blue rockets are on either side of a central beam and spin and light as they twirl around the tripod mounted tower. A bell rings. See also the Twirly Whirly variation.

BUCK ROGER LIQUID HELIUM PISTOL XZ-44 (RED/YELLOW VERSION) - DAISY - USAThis is the fourth of Daisy's Buck Rogers space guns. Produced in 1936 this 7-1/4" red and yellow lithographed steel gun is a delightfully extravagant piece.

The bulbous pressed metal gun has a vibrant yellow and red color scheme with lightning bolts. Water gun action with an internal leather bladder "25 shot repeater". The gun carries a small picture of Buck Rogers along with plenty of copyright information to ward of competitors.

The gun was also produced in a copper finish.

SPARKLING ROCKET V-1 - MASUDAYA - JAPANDespite its name this early tin rocket is based on the German V-2 rocket shape. A red, white and yellow wheeled friction rocket with three green fins. Spark window at rear. There is a red button set into the body by the tailfin. Possibly this a pull back rocket released by pressing the button. Friction action with spark and noise. 12" 30cm Date? 1950s. TM

There are two versions:
1. V-1 wording and a US Airforce star. USAF on the tail fin.
2. Marked ROCKET on the side. Graphic of the Earth with a ring around it on the sides. Marked 2 on the fin.

Both versions were sold in the V-1 version box.

FIREBALL XL5 ROCKET GUN - MERIT - ENGLANDBlack plastic raygun shoots darts. This is based on the Dan Dare Rocket Gun (which in turn is based on the US Plastic Space Patrol Rocket Gun) though the wording embossed on the gun is Fireball XL5. The handle retains its Dan Dare badge logo. Two red plastic message carrying darts are included.

The gun is featured in the 1966 Austin Davis of Sheffield Christmas Gifts catalogue.

CAPSULE 5 BLUE/WHITE VERSION - MASUDAYA - JAPANTin battery operated space capsule. White top and a light blue bottom half with a distinctive red bulbous front assembly tipped with a white plastic nose cone. The front is surrounded by flashing colored lights. The capsule has a clear plastic window in the top containing a tin astronaut with a red light behind him. There are two large red cone structures on the sides, like engine intakes.

Space Capsule 5 wording on the side of the toy. Advances with mystery action, flashing lights and a beeping noise as the astronaut pilot moves back and forth. The box depicts the capsule's white and blue color scheme. 1960s Date?

TERRA LUNA with antenna - Technofix - WEST GERMANYTin windup track toy. Circa 1953. Early version of the toy that has two satellites spinning in circles as two 1.75" long tin cars are shot around the track. Beautifully litho'd toy has illustrations of space ships on both sides.
