AOSHIN

Aoshin, ASC, is one of the great names in space toy production. Their robots are a small but select group and their one flying saucers is absolutely superb.

Flying Space Saucer

If you think the ASC X-103 is superb, then this one will blow your socks off. This is the rarely photographed Flying Space Saucer by Aoshin. Besides being one of the earliest flying saucers, it easily qualifies as the most impressive. Virtually every detail sets it apart from the vast majority of saucers. A little yellow robot with a flashing red light in his head, sits at the back of a huge gun turret, which is in turn perched on an undersized saucer. The base is covered with high quality litho depicting space stations, satellites, rockets and planets on a rich blue background. The appeal lies in the strange contradiction between this cutle little saucer and the uncompromising killing machine that it carries. If the early robots are characterised by their nonaggressive nature, then this 1950s sauce breaks all the rules. It's a small battery operated mystery action toy, but the quality is exceptional. The box is beautiful: it can speak for itself.
