Yes actually I did some consulting on their project. The hero prop phaser was 3D scanned, and the replica derived from a rectified version of that scan (the real thing is actually very wonky and asymmetrical).
Richard Blakesley and his associates say they will be at Comic Con this week with a prototype of the phaser, so if anyone from the board is going, stop by the Wand booth and check it out (I can't make it this year unfortunately).
The remote deviates on purpose from the prop in a couple of areas (sound holes in the top, using the power meter to display what mode the remote is in) but on the whole it should be one of the most accurate replica phasers ever. And at $150, one of the most affordable.
