I always imagined this to be a sort of gentle slow robot. It's noisy and frantic! I do quite like his eyebrows.

And it's gone. I wonder if it was pulled by Ebay or if the seller managed to find a dupe to make an off of ebay offer. I suppose that's still a way to take the money and keep it. There are still a couple of rare Popeye toys in the seller's listings. These "working two jobs, doing this as a hobby and only ship on Tuesday" people never sell anything but the rarest and best!

What an interesting leap into the art world!  It's fun to see collectors noticing art that isn't printed on cardboard, not that I don't love that art too!

They have all their guarantees to protect the buyer, so I wonder how a bogus seller would think they could get around the paypal policies? It's one thing to have a disgruntled dupe in a far away state pissed off, but to have paypal come after you? The picture of this toy is right off the Ohio auction site - it went for a hair under 6K, so somebody got a reasonable deal. That's low for this toy, isn't it?

This one is from an auction last weekend in Ohio. http://www.auctionzi...1E6F0AD&seq=129

I wrote to ebay, but it didn't seem to  ask for evidence or even an explanation as to why you knew it was fake. It's still up.
