Botstock X T-Shirts .. Is anyone interested ?

02 April 2013 - 03:22 AM

I need to find out if anyone wants T-shirts made up....
I had a couple made up just to see what they would look like.

Pricing would be dependent upon the amount of shirts ordered.
1-5 shirts = 20.50, 6-11 = 18.20, 12-16 = 16.70, and so on.
The more shirts I order, the cheaper the final price.
I would take the orders, collect the money, and bring the shirts to PA.

If you are interested, please post on here, and we can deal
with money, sizes, and so on once I get everyones input.
If you don't want to, no problem. I'm just really going to miss Leons
great shirts this year, and wanted to pick up the ball. Let me know.

Thanks, Bob

Prototype Horikawa Missile Robot

02 January 2013 - 03:37 AM

So I was back looking at the pics of that Horikawa Missile Robot.....
I have been toying with this for a few years. Even found a project dino for the body.
Thought it was time to dig him out again.
Here are my questions:

1) Do you think the prototype actually walked, opened, extended / retracted, and closed, or was it just a static study piece ?

2) The Dino motor doesn't leave enough room for the missile as pictured. I know they eliminated the Batt box on the proto,
I guess this was to give more room for the innards, but what motor config would they have used ?
It seems all the room for the stored missile would take up any motor / gearbox space.

3) Do you think the missile movement was concentric, or spring loaded? How about
the mechanics for the door / missile extend / retract mechanism ?

I really wish Uncle Henk was here to rehash this. But surely the current braintrust has some ideas....
Laserman, you were talking about doing this a few years ago .... Any input ???

Thanks as always, Bob.

I think we need to have a Frank & Open discussion concerning the exponential growth over the years of BotStock posters ...
