World Gun by Nomura - KDP

2 posts in this topic

Another of those delicious early Japanese space guns from Gilbert. This is the World Gun with TN on the stock and on the box, but it also has the KDP inside a stylised S logo that we just saw on the Universal Gun. Beautiful art work.

Gilbert's example lacks the barrel tip, which raises a question about what should be there. The single tab on each side seems to confirm that the barrel is the black metal one that you see on similar ones. Looking through the database, a World Gun contender was already there, but without a box, and with a red plastic barrel. The barrel could have been a later addition. so this is Gilbert's best guess at what a complete one would look like, and I think he's right.

Here's that other contender with the plastic barrel. Is it original to the piece?

Here are the early (1950s, "primitive" style) Japanese machine guns that are currently in the database. You can begin to see the connections and family trees very clearly.

Can anyone add to this, or provide the missing boxes?
