Banc-O-Matico Robot, Some Light To This Robot

Recommended Posts

This is the result of my investigation about the Banc-O-matico robot.
In 1966 Banco Nacional de Mexico introduced computer system for his financial operations.
They wanted to show off this to his clients and they launched a campaign and they gave the personality of a robot with the "Automatized cashier".
In the ads appears a Rocket Man by Alps for that campaign.

And as a part of this campaign they gave to his new clients a robot coin bank as a gift when you open an account.

The first version looks very similar to the Rocket Man by Alps

The second version was released in 1968 when Banco Nacional de Mexico introduced the first credit card in Mexico (Banc-O-matico)

They made changes to add more space for branding of Banc-O-matico.

The third version was to celebrate the first ATM in 1972, they used another version, bigger with friendly face, more branding area and a very cheap battery lamp in the hole of the head (I have never saw one of this lamp, but someone told me that he had one complete some time ago).
This has the wrong arms and has missing the feet

In the chest looks the modification of the Bank's logo, the second and the third is more clean design, the first is more in the old style.
In the third version in the chest have the credit card design.
