Here's a newspaper ad from 1956 for "The Brain".
Thanks to John Rigg (and the U.S. Patent Office) check out these patent diagrams for The Brain/Z-Man:
Does anyone out there actually have a Z-Man aka The Brain.
I've been in contact with a guy who's father owned a Toy
Store from the 50's until the 70's. He had a Z-Man, as a
kid, and was wondering if they show up for sale and how
much one would cost. Enquiring Minds Need to Know... <_<
They do show up relatively often although a little less often recently. I have a boxed one (brittle box) and several loose ones. They are frequently missing the missiles and almost always missing the front and rear chrome stickers and the two Z-man stickers from the sides. I've seen boxed ones go for $350-$400 and loose ones with missles for $150-$200. Incomplete ones for $25-$75.
Thanks Electric Robot... :)
I have one that I bought for $25 bucks long ago and like ER&S said at that price it was missing the rockets. I new a guy in Seattle "1980's to early 1990's" that had a mint in box "never played with" one and all the inserts and instructions and so on, I wish I had taken pictures of all that stuff back then so we could all look at it now.
