Roboter 700
Just got back from a visit with the Goodwin Collection and thought I would share a few pictures of Roboter 700. First let me say the Roboter 700 has an advanced mechanical design for its time, besides being able to take the toy apart. The walking mechanics are very interesting. The legs move back and forth like any walking robot toy but on the bottoms of the feet there are tiny plastic roller wheels that move out and lift the foot up off the ground that is moveing forward. The roller lets the foot move forward as the other foots roller is up inside it stays in place. this allso give the robot a cool side turning effect with each step. So you have a moveing leg, a foot that lifts up off the gound and turning effect all built in to this great toy. We wound it up and it works great!
