RADICON ROBOT - MASUDAYA

first of all, my thanks to Fineas J. Whoopie for posting the bonhams auction thread.

my radicon with original box came yesterday, and i’m very pleased. the robot is a good 8.5 and works like a dream. the box lid needs a little help, but all there, including the inserts. this is an even rarer version of the original box, with the misspelling of the word “complete”, spelt as “conplete”.

:) Congatulations, RPHR, and I don't even know if congrats are good enough for a prize like that! Wow He's beautiful. How about some more pictures of your collection? (How does he look on the shelf? (stupid question, of course! He is the robot all of us dream about, it would look great anywhere anytime) -envious, -Larry 7

Another tid-bit of information I was not aware of.

Thanks, RPHR!

And, congratulations! A VERY nice piece!!

A question...

Is the large left hand meter attached differently to the white chest plate than on later versions? I don't see the more familiar eyelet heads.

RPHR-

Fantastic! I'm happy to have been of some service, and it's nice to see the Radicon go to a "family member". ;) I've seen your collection (museum) and I think that this museum piece has found a good home. I do not know how you survived waiting for two months for delivery though!

What a great pick up, RPHR! It looks great, and that box is wonderful (beat-ups notwithstanding). Definitely a nice jewel to add to your crown of a collection.

thanks guys, very kind of you all.

joe-

the lens that covers the meter has slipped. minor issue, nothing broken, and one that should be no problem to fix, given that the radicon, as with all the gang, has screws to put him together. so there's little danger of snapping tabs.

still, given the relative ease of opening him, i'm still in two minds whether to do it or not? i guess i can live with it for now. i'll wait and see.
