Reisler Spacemen

We discussed these Reisler spacemen from Denmark before. I picked up the set recently off Ebay. I didn't realized they were jointed on the right arm. Nice detail in these 2-1/2" figures. Were they made in colors?

Since a longer time I´m searching for these figures and although Denmark is a neighbouring country in the north of Germany I can´t detect anything.

Guess I´ll need more patience  To answer your question: they were made only in white plastic as far as I know.

Phil, I picked up a set of these spacemen 8 months ago or so, all white plastic. It was one of those uneducated purchases where the seller listed them as vintage but I later learned were reissued. Reissued sets can be found on the web...in white plastic. The pic in Blast Off shows a set in color but I believe they were crudely painted rather than being molded in colored plastic.

Check out the link (bottom-right)... http://www.angelfire.com/biz/toysoldierhq/Reisler.html

I'm unable to see your pic...

Somehow there was a formatting area in Alphadrome that had images blocked. I don't know how I did that. Here's the Reisler image. I thought I saw a photo with blue or green helmets on the figures. Is that how they're supposed to be?

It will explain a lot. :)

It looks like the same set I received although mine came with poorly done blue and clear helmets. I think I've only seen one vintage example come up for auction over the years, not too long ago actually, and it was painted vice molded in colored plastic. Unfortunately, I didn't keep a copy of the pic.

Thanks BR, I stand corrected. The vintage figures look to be painted colored plastic! Thanks for the reference material, now we know they date to at least 1953. I tried to snag the pictures to post as part of this thread but they're apparently protected. <_<

Translated some of the Danish phrases. Tried my best as my English isn´t perfect and never learned Danish. :D

Rumforskere ,German =Raumforscher, English = Space Men (Translated word by word = Space Scientists)

731 Med atomgevaer i favnen, mit Atomgewehr im Arm, with atomic gun in arm

732 Med atompistol, mit Atompistole, with atomic gun (pistol)

733 Foroverbojet m. atompistol, vorgebeugt mit Atompistole, leaned forward with atomic gun

734 Forer, stehend, standing

3029 Lille krater, kleiner Krater, small crater

3030 Mellem krater, mittlerer Krater, middle/medium crater

3031 Dobbelt krater, doppelter Krater, double crater

Rumforskere med bevaegelig Arm, Raumfahrer mit beweglichem Arm, space men with moveable arm

For me it was a surprise to see those moon dioramas with the craters.

Love the painted figures. I think I'm going to paint mine. Where can one get helmets for this size figure? They're much smaller than Archer figures.

Did someone noticed the similarities of the Reisler figures, especially the blue and the brown one, to the Thomas Toys space men? In this case it´s easy to say which are the copies. The Thomas space men came out in 1953, the Reisler figures in 1954!

I did. Follow my "Related Thread" link from the previous page, I show some comparisons.
