1959 Dux Astro Man Patent Files

There is a German claim as you can see on the first patent page for 1959 for the Dux robot, this patent was applided for in 1960 and was granted in 1964. I can not find the thread I was looking for that has lots of info on the robot so if you can find it link it to this thread for when the robot was first offored for sale. What I find interesting about this patent is that alot of the patent is about making the robot operate by mechanical cable control. And as we know in the end the robot was battery motor driven. There is one sentence about the robot design being made to operate by battery motor in this patent. Now there is a drawing that I had saved from Alphadrome in the past that is dated 1965 and it is a modified drawing from this patent that shows a battery cable control version. I have to wonder if a mechanical cable driven version was ever built as a prototype. Now that would be cool to see!

So if anyone can find the past thread on the robot then we will have pictures that include pictures of the instructions sheet in different languages as well as the box and bot.

JOHN - I'm not clear with the DUX - but will share some more informations soon. You have the sharp eyes - as always! The mechanical cable control - was important - and will be part of my report...

Intriguing . So this is a mere toy and requires 10,000 words to protect the concept, yet 4 yrs later We have Mr Mercury . I'm guessing the statue of limitations had not expired. So what small deviation allowed Marx to produce this Bot ?? I tried to patent a truck bed cover 10 yrs ago.............It was a gambit of scams and and government red tape. It is still a great invention, yet there it sits .. So how many examples can we come up with where there were infringement infractions beside Mr Mercury ? John, are you hanging out at the patent office ?
