Got my Firebird III from south of the border the other day. I could not help but notice how much the color scheme looked like Fireball XL-5. Wonder if one influenced the other? They'll look swell together in the case anyhow....

That's an awesome car. I thought about bidding on this one. Does it come in other colors or is the white one a knockoff?

Hi John, I would say the red/white version is the most common variation,

I thought about bidding on that one too, to have them side-by-side. The white/red one would look great next to my Moonliner

I would say it was probably inspired by this 1958 Firebird concept car. Nice car and rocket. Love the color of the car. post-890-1265683565.jpg

Sarasota, that car's a peach! How big is it? It looks about 12 inches.

That is a great Fireball. I got the one from Product Enterprise, along with the Supercar and Stingray. Those are nice models for the price, and diecast. Nice to see these classic icons come out these days. Now let's see more Thunderbirds...like the main five and the Zero X.

Yes , it is a little over 12" long, about 5" wide.

I have a few Fireballs, as well as Stingrays & Supercars. I guess I'll do a Gerry Anderson thread....

Not sure about a reference number, but here are the other pictures from the auction for posterity. Auction says item number on box is MF761.

hi noel, I don't think a reference number guide exists or is known by non-chinese people for these toys,

I've got 2 books written by marvin chan, chinese toys vol 1 & 2 full of good pictures and numbers, but there not complete, and written in chinese,

do you know these books?

ps great piece this dual racer!

still is so much to discover it seems

Hi martijn, sorry I dont know the books you mention but I'll look them out. This "Firebird" must be a rarity? makes you wonder what else there is out there...
