A great robot Andy. And I too love to hear the storys of how one aquires their toys. I have sold robots in the past that I regret selling. Not because of not being able to get them back, but the stories of how I got them. My ranger came from the original owner. She lives not far from me. She didnt play with it much, and its pretty mint with box. I should have a picture taken with her holding it. Thanks for sharing Andy, Whats next on your list????
Back to you Klotzm1. The robot you you asked about is one of my favorites. Its name is robot junor. It is only a little over 4" tall. Made in 1968 by bandai of japan. Very hard to find mint. The box is a plane window box. Very cool. It took years for me to find one.
There are variations. There is one with a two piece tin arm. One with a cast metal arm. And there are several color variations. Blue head, green head. And so on. It seems that the one with the cast arms (regular color) is the more common one.
I agree with Fin.$350. for a nice one would be a good deal. I have always thought that this robot is very under rated. Years ago before E-bay I sold a lose tin armed one near mint for $600. A nice one in the box with original key around $1000. to $1400. You just dont see the box for this one. Its more like paper than cardboard. Very fragile.
I collect only robots . No space men, no rockets, no saucers, no space vehicles. Its not because I dont like any of the others, its just that my money only goes so far. And robots are the best. Thats just me .
Steve, believe it or not I called Ray about the mighty. Not that I had the money to buy it. Just wanted to see if it was still available. He said he had already sold it .I remember thinking "boy thats alot of money!!" I sould have called sooner and sold my car to buy it.
