InterestsRobots: Movie Robots: Robot Models:
I Make 1/5th scale movie robots from scratch(by Hand).

I like all toy robots, and collect mostly movie related robots, if it doesn't exsist as a toy or model then I build them.
I apologize that Mary and I will not be able to attend due to costs and transportation issues, although we always would be happy to attend it is the only one vacation we look forward to each year but at this time it's just too difficult for us.
So once again, I am Sorry maybe next Botstock.
Thanks for your concerns,
Warmest regards as always
Joined back in April 06 when Botstock 3 was coming out and at that time the regulars were Henk, John, Pat, Joe, Doc, and Andy of course there was the European group plus the rest of some ol timers that talked up quite a bit about the old tin robots here and considered plastic kinda taboo so it was a delicate time on how and what one spoke of around here but, eventually everyone came around and due to the "Botstock" events and we got to know one another and became even better at relationships with one another.
All in all it's been rather wonderful coming here and still getting to chat it up with fellow robot collectors and only wish more would contribute, also at some Botstock in the Future maybe a tribute to the founding fathers of Alphadrome, but that's just wishes down the road.
So Thanks Brian for the Most Excellent Site Sir!
All my Best,
I hope the grandkids were happy with the new toy Grandpa John made, as most kids seem to be embarrassed by anything we as parents or grandparents do.
While most of us robot collectors love this kind of stuff our kids think of it as old and slow and would rather see a movie or play a game on their gaming systems, begs to question if we really do teach our kids the important things in life?
In any case, John, you've done one heck of a fantastic job! Please continue to amaze us! and THANK YOU!!!
I'll probably need one for the next Botstock. But I really want to try it out in an urban setting to see what kind of comments it gets. Come on Man it would be so cool! Like "How come there's not more of these?"
My two cents....Vintage versus Repo? an argument that will go on for as long as there are collectors. It's a personal choice, each of us decides which pieces we want or do not want so it all comes down to our choice. Plain and Simple? Not always, one man's Gold is another's Trash.
I for one am glad that at least there is a place like this in which to discuss matters such as these, so thank you all for the Input!
WOW!!! Is all I can Say! THANKS to all for the Birthday Wishes and I'll be sure to raise a tall cold one on my Birthday Saturday June 29th, That's my actual day, so again Thanks for the Early wishes, and God Bless All of you!
