That piece that comes off looks like it has a crack in it. It might have been held tighter to the shaft in the center. The upper half is supposed
to rotate around. you might try and superglue that piece to the shaft and see what happens. you could also fill the gap inside with epoxy.
I think someone was making the old style goop because the New one, that used a lightbulb for a heat source, had a
different mix of latex that dried quicker and with less heat than the old style. I tried the new goop in an old mold and
before it dried, it burned up. Too Much heat from the old "Hot Plate".
I am trying to get more information on this robot.
It is Made in China for the Japanese Market. It must be from around
1987 because it speaks dialog from Robocop. Nice Action for a China Robot.
Arms move up and down, gears in chest rotate, dome lights up when you are
using the remote, eyes and mouth light up,clear transparent body, moves forward and turns in reverse.
Very Heavy too.
I found Alphadrome in 1997 when I finally got a PC. It was from Claranet and it was a blue background with white text.
there were no photos or videos. It was just text. I think Brian had made a website and let people comment about the
site. Then someone asked a question and all hell broke loose !!!
What I see is a modifacation of an existing Robot. It looks like instead of a gear to open the doors, they are using a piece of heavy sand paper (Maybe from a Drimmle Tool) to open the doors. It is moving against a gear but there are no teeth on it ?
You can see the standard 2 gear system. When It walks, the gear is lower and moves the feet. When the gear rises, it engages
the upper mechanism and then the sandpaper disk rotates around the gear opening the doors and showing a scene that is not there anymore.
I wonder if John Rigg is going through his junk bin right now ?
I think they are using existing robots (from that era) and modifying them. Why start from scratch?
From the other Yahoo Auctions, it seems that Metal House is going out of business and they are liquidating
everything they find in the warehouse. There should be lots of prototypes showing up.
This one looks like there should have been a scene showing when the doors open up. I don't think they were
intending to have just the guts showing.
