Taking advantage of the long weekend to catch up a little with the board. So maybe a little late but thanks Robobob, I was lucky and all is fine on my part of Queens...

So sad...Just logged in to lurk a little and learned of this...

Hi Ken nice to read you too! Getting advantage of some slow work days to catch up.
Fin that version you have is super cool...It has much more red than the one I have. The fun part is that in both of them the wheel cap is made of scraps of tin with the same saucer litho...

    Hi Fin! How are you?

Ha ha! Of course I didn't see that thread...and I thought it was such big news! I will try to catch up with all old threads while work allows.

Long time no post...I know!...but needed to share this with you all and find out if anyone else has seen this version of the X-505 saucer that, I am almost sure, is made in India...Why? Because of the litho, the heft and because I bought it from this famous weird-way-of-packing Indian seller we mentioned in the other thread.

I have the Japanese one too (please disregard condition it's hard to find so it's FPO until I get a better one) and at first wasn't sure of what was I buying until until I had it in my hands and place it next to the other one.

No more blah blah, see the pics and let me know your thoughts. The one on the left of the screen is the Indian the one on the right is the Japanese. And from the astronaut close ups the first one is the Indian and the second the Japanese...

All good all good Keith...just a little bit "distracted" with work...
I got a better camera now (yeyy!) so I am posting pics of the two vintage 101 I have next to the repro one.
Also I will open a new post on the x-505 Indian and Japanese saucers...

Keith i have the impression the seller thinks it is more appealing if he says there are japanese : ) I will try to post some photos today...and also from another indian vintage saucer imitating the design of another japanese saucer that i got recently.

Mmmm THIS IS VINTAGE...don't be confused, there's a vintage indian version and there is a new indian repro...
Loooong ago i made a post comparing both ( the welby Indian new version and the vintage Indian one)...

Yeahh I had also bought from this guy too, and yes his packaging is reeeally funny. A delight!

Marco, that one is in beautiful condition. I have one that bought from Italy also, not in such a good condition as yours.

The only markings it has on the back are made in china and mf 878...I believe Joe has a track of these chinese toys numbers.
The only difference with mine is that the spiral drawings on the domed "eyes" (sort-of) are orange and in yours are green and on Finneas pic are red?

PS: Oops now that I see the MF 878 is painted also on the back fins. Not a big contribution.

    Sad.
He was very special. I remember when I bought the whole series of the Astromans (they were just out of the oven at the moment). He was traveling to Japan so he asked the factory to send them to me straight from there (instead of him bringing them to the US and so)...it happened that after that he forgot to charge me so after a while I had to write him to remind him...

Great pics! Keep on coming! Bring me so many great memories of other past Botstocks...(wish I could be there!)
I don't have to do any other question as I see John has made them all.

Only wonder what did you ate at the Haunted Mansion...
