Thanks, I checked out the epoxy method from one of the links. I do something similar now but always wonder how long it will last.
    Thanks for your help.

I have been collecting a small army of the Tomy Karate Robots that came out around 1970. They always have the same issue. One Nylon gear on the motor shaft and one nylon gear inside the gear box have spilt giving the motor no traction so the robot just sit there. I know this is common with Nylon gears.
Does anyone know where I can find replacement gears? I could use metal if I could find them or Nylon or plastic. I would almost rather use Nylon or plastic as it is original to the robot.

    Thanks for your help!

    I agree

Thanks for the response. Not sure if the rods are on backwards. They just bind at one point in the rotation. The hooks attached to the wheels seem to push them out too far to me.

Has anyone else noticed that the Robert repros don't work very well. The one I have has two problems. The cable keeps jumping off the back (disconnecting from the coupling) and the metal rods the run from the wheels to move the arms rubs against the inner frame at one point making operation less then smooth. Anyone else have this problem? ;)
